Have you ever heard of people using club soda to remove stains from carpets and upholstery? Do you know why? It’s all in the carbonation. Cornerstone Chem-Dry uses the same concept, but perfected it so that it’s safer for your expensive carpet and furniture.

One of the most difficult stains to remove from a carpet is oil. Anyone who has ever spilled butter on a pair of jeans knows just how difficult it is to lift that oily stain. Some scrub it with laundry detergent and soak it in water (which we do NOT advise!). Soon enough, that stain will reappear as a dark blob that only gets darker and more embarrassing as time goes on. Oil repels water, which rendering most water-based cleaners useless, and soaps can only go so far.

Fortunately, cutting-edge carbonation cleaners can now go where traditional stain removal cannot. At Cornerstone Chem-Dry, we offer a carbonated cleaning process that can lift enough the most difficult stains. Not only does our carbonated cleaning solution effectively lift stains from carpets, but it is actually safer than traditional cleaning solutions and uses much less water. That means no leftover residue and much less stress on your carpet.

Using conventional carpet shampooers and steam cleaners, like ones rented from supermarkets, can actually do more long-term harm than good. These machines typically apply too much damaging shampoo and detergent to carpets, and don’t completely rinse out the soapy residue. That soap, once dried, easily collects dirt and stains and can damage factory-applied protectors.

Carpet shampoos and steam cleaners also typically use too much water and don’t adequately soak up the moisture. This soapy stew can soak deep into your carpet and cause mold and mildew to develop. Liquids can also damage the backing material on your carpet.

Not only can these detergents and shampoos damage carpet, but they are often toxic and carry strong perfumes that can be irritating to people who are sensitive to chemicals.

Cornerstone Chem-Dry’s carbonated cleaning process uses much less water than traditional carpet shampooers, reducing the risk of putting too much moisture into your carpet. Carbonated cleaning doesn’t require harsh shampoos or detergents, which means less strain on your carpet and no soapy residue left behind.

We use a professional-grade cleaning solution called The Natural that uses carbonation to gently and quickly lift deep stains from your carpet—safely and naturally. And because cleaning with carbonation uses much less water, the carpet dries faster, deterring mold and mildew from developing.
But the real reason to use carbonated cleaning is in the results. Take a look at our carbonated cleaning process and watch how it lifts tough stains right out of the carpet, safely leaving it looking good as new.

‘Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the house – The carpet was dirty, and so was the couch.

A throw rug was placed by the chimney with care, in hopes it would cover the burn marks there. The children were cleaning toys from under their beds, while millions of dust mites dropped on their head.

So Dad clipped a coupon and hoped it was true, then he called to get carpet cleaned for $9.95 per room. Then out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash, tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear but two carpet cleaners in a van finishing their beer.

As the driver stumbled out of the van, he gave his cigarette a flick and started swearing under his breath, “lets make this quick”. They walked to the porch and knocked on the door – No way I was letting these guys in to do my floor!”

So we stayed real quiet until they were gone – all that was left was the beer cans tossed on our lawn. So I grabbed my lap-top and “carpet cleaning” I Googled – forget about coupons, it doesn’t pay to be too frugal.

And then in a twinkling I picked up the phone and called Cornerstone Chem-Dry to get the job done. No sooner had I hung up and was turning around, he pulled in my driveway, he came with a bound.

He was dressed in a uniform, clean cut and neat, and his clothes were all pressed with booties on his feet. A neat bundle of hoses he had flung on his back. He looked like a professional ready to unpack.

He was friendly and smart, and one by one, made sure I was happy with each room he had done. He used guards to make sure he didn’t scratch up my walls or my bed and as he dried my carpet I knew I had nothing to dread.

He worked real fast and when the carpet was dry as powder. I asked him to clean the tile in our shower.

The house was now clean and allergen free mostly so the only thing left was for him to clean the upholstery. When he finished his work, the house smelled so clean, everything sparkled like the lights on our tree.

He packed up his van, ere he drove away, He said to our neighbors, “There’s still time left, so call us today!”

Erika said, “My grandma was a fighter. She rarely missed one of her grandchildren’s events. In fact, right after her chemo treatments she would often go straight to one of her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was strong to the end. I was her biggest fan and watching her lose this battle was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Though she fought till the end, it eventually got the best of her.”

Another aunt of Erika’s, her Aunt Michele from Yakima, Washington overcame breast cancer a few years ago and has taught her to triumph through adversity. “Aunt Michele not only faced breast cancer with dignity but also lost a teenage son, Gavin, in a tragic motorcycle accident. But every time I see Aunt Michele, I am filled with love and hope as she embodies a spirit of strength and triumph.”

“I am excited to be involved with Chem-Dry’s Cleaning for the Cause because I believe in the National Breast Cancer Foundation and am happy to help as they are working so hard to fight this horrible disease. My life and the lives of countless others have been forever changed because of the effects of breast cancer. I would love to see a cure in my lifetime.”

Erika and Randy will be donating privately as well as through Cornerstone Chem-Dry. They are donating to several Susan G. Komen 3-Day Race for the Cure auctions and fundraisers. They will also be donating $4/per can for every pink can of Chem-Dry’s World Famous Spot Remover sold through October 2011. A big push in October 2011 and then again in February 2012 is on their agenda so look for lots of pink coming from their offices!

Cornerstone Chem-Dry will be using the pink cans, e-blasts, postcards and information on their website to share their excitement and plans with their customers. They hope to gain recognition for breast cancer research and awareness.

When selecting a carpet cleaning service provider, Cornerstone Chem-Dry suggests looking for a reputable company that stands behind their work—not someone who will quote you a low price just to get in the door. They also suggest finding cleaners that offer guarantees and have professionally trained technicians who are employees of their company, not subcontractors. Cornerstone Chem-Dry prides themselves on their expertise in carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, area rug cleaning, leather cleaning, water damage restoration and tile and grout cleaning. They have been cleaning carpets in Frisco, McKinney, Dallas, and all the other cities in Dallas, Denton, Collin, Rockwall and Tarrant counties for over 17 years.

Well, looks like the pitter patter of feet from all the kids at home this summer has come to an end! My house is pretty quiet now and I am noticing what a mess my kids made of our home this summer! It was a fun summer but wow, I am amazed at how much money I am already saving on food now that my boys are back at school! Having very social 12 year old and a 15 year old boys and all their friends over all summer was fun but definitely put a strain on my budget! Those boys can sure put the food away! Well, they can eat it — not sure they really know how to put anything away in the house! Can you relate to that?

Just a few of the hungry, messy boys!

Today I was walking around the quiet house and noticing the messes the boys left behind! The xBox/workout room has red stains and soda stains from all the food and drinks they sneaked upstairs late nights this summer! Thank goodness for Cornerstone Chem-Dry! I know with one call, I can have my carpets cleaned, my area rugs cleaned and even my furniture and tile cleaned as well! I am certainly glad I protected my carpets last time I had them cleaned in the spring! I am confident all the red stains will come out when I have the crews out here to clean the carpets! And I know they can clean the carpets and have them dry before my crew makes it home!

If you need a little help restoring sanity to your home after a fun filled summer, give Cornerstone Chem-Dry a call at 972-690-7272 or visit their website at www.co2cleaners.com and I know they will take great care of you! After all, they have a 30 day guarantee and call every client after the job to make sure they were completely satisfied!

I spent the first 3 days of school at Webb Middle School in Garland helping the new 6th graders find their classes and open their lockers! The past 5 years this is how I have spent my first 3 days of school! It is amazing what a difference there is in the 6th graders and the 8th graders and boy does it go by so quickly! These sweet 6th graders are confused, lost and a little nervous! What a great feeling to help make their first few days of middle school a little less daunting! This year I also had the opportunity to introduce two new 7th grade girls to my son, Travis, and his group of friends! I sure hope their first week at a new school went a little easier by knowing a few people! And a special thank you to all the kids who made Morgan and Natalie’s first few days a little easier! Here is a picture from the GISD website — I am in the green shirt! http://bit.ly/pU6uQw

Most dirt when fallen onto carpet remains seen as most of it traps on the surface of the fibers. Sand falls straight through. It sifts far enough down under that it collects into your padding. Yes, regular vacuuming not only helps, but is recommended. But, good luck with the baseboards. These hard to access places in our rooms are when professional cleaners come in quite handy.

Sand on your tile is first suggested to keeping as little contact as possible. Picture taking sandpaper and rubbing it all over your tile floors – this is literally what happens under our shoes. If you would like a good shine put back into tile floors after all that beach fun, again, have them professional treated.

Can I get a show of hands for those who enjoyed barbeques this summer? Yep! Smoking, grilling, sauce comparison and competition – all barbeque joys. Well, while this great eating sport is generally meant for the outdoors, that’s not always the case.

Sometimes the Texas heat drives us indoors where the gift of air conditioning spells relief. And this summer is even worse with over 40 consecutive days with 100+ temperatures! Ever seen that dark caramel-colored sauce rubbed into carpet? Not a pretty sight, huh? Then there’s the grease to contend with, and it’s all downhill from there.

These types of messes only get worse the longer they stay in your carpet. A chemical reaction occurs during the period of contact with your carpet that continually increases its effect of not coming out. Our suggestion is rapid response.

Summer time may have been a blast, but all that fun can turn into headaches this fall as your flooring will soon show signs of wear. While the kids are back in class, take this time to have your floors and carpets restored to their beauty for another Texas season.

Cornerstone Chem-Dry is available to professionally clean a variety of flooring types, including carpet, hardwood floors, tile and grout, and even area rugs and upholstery. For more information and to schedule an appointment, please give us a jingle at 972-690-7272.

You wouldn’t think vacuuming your carpet or even walking across it would cause it to become more susceptible to stains would you? That’s exactly what happens each time you clean your carpet, you can potentially remove a layer of the stain resistance that was applied at the factory by the carpet manufacturer.

In the normal life of your carpet, factory-applied stain resistance can wear off, leaving your carpet vulnerable to stains. This process happens over time and you won’t even be aware it’s happened until someone spills something on your carpet or upholstery… then it’s too late.

Most carpet manufacturers apply a stain resistance product to carpet at the factory. This protection can be very effective for a time period. Normal wear and tear on your carpet, as well as time, diminishes the effectiveness of this protection.

You might be tempted to purchase products such as Scotch Guard or similar brands of fabric protection, but these products may not be effective if applied incorrectly. Chem-Dry Fabric Protection protects your carpet and provides an invisible shield to protect all your upholstery.

Some benefits of Chem-Dry Fabric Protection include:

High-quality shield around each fiber

Environmentally safe for use around family and pets

Soil protection for all types of fabrics and carpets

Repels liquids such as wine, juice, and other staining agents

Extends the life of your carpet or fabric investment

Improves the ability to more effectively clean and care for carpeted and fabric surfaces

You can apply Chem-Dry Fabric Protection to any type of fabric including upholstery, carpet, area rugs, car interiors and carpeting, any fabric that has high traffic and is susceptible to stains.

Chem-Dry Fabric Protection provides an invisible shield against stains because it is water repellent. Stains simply won’t penetrate the fabric. You can easily wipe up spills with water and a white cloth. It is also safe for the environment.

Unlike harsh chemical agents you can purchase at the store or home improvement big box store, you can feel confident using Chem-Dry Fabric Protection around kids and pets.

Your carpet and upholstery are one of the biggest investments in your home and it’s often the first impression people have of your home. Protect your investment with Chem-Dry Fabric Protection which will extend the life of your carpet and fabric.
